Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about GradeTyping — activation, features, system requirements, and support.
Activation & Licensing
01 How do I activate GradeTyping after purchase?
After your payment is confirmed, you will receive an activation key via email. Open GradeTyping, go to the activation screen, enter the key, and your license will be validated instantly — no internet connection required for subsequent use.
02 Can I transfer my license to a different computer?
Single PC licenses are tied to one PC. If you need to transfer your license to a new machine (e.g., after a hardware upgrade), contact our support team between 10 AM and 6 PM and we will assist with the transfer at no extra charge.
03 What happens if my license expires?
Once the 12-month period ends, GradeTyping will prompt you to renew. Your existing data and settings are preserved. Simply renew your license to restore full access.
04 Can I upgrade from a Single PC plan to an Extenda plan later?
Yes. Contact support and we will calculate a pro-rated upgrade cost for the remaining period of your current license. You can upgrade at any time.
System & Installation
01 What are the system requirements for GCC-TBC Mentor?
GCC-TBC Mentor supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 (32-bit and 64-bit). Minimum 2 GB RAM (4 GB recommended) and a 1024×768 display. No internet connection is required after activation.
02 Does GradeTyping work offline?
Yes — fully. Once activated, GradeTyping operates 100% offline. All lessons, exam content, and theory questions are stored locally. This makes it ideal for computer labs in areas with unreliable internet connectivity.
03 Does it support multi-seat LAN setups?
Yes. The 1 + 3 Extenda, 1 + 5 Extenda, and 1 + 10 Extenda plans support multi-seat LAN setups commonly used in Maharashtra institutes.
04 Does GradeTyping support Windows 7?
Yes. The current desktop runtime supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10 and 11 on 32-bit and 64-bit systems.
05 How large is the installation file?
Download size varies by release. Check the download page for the current package before distributing it by USB or across a local network.
Typing Modules & Content
01 Which languages are supported for typing practice?
GradeTyping supports three languages: Marathi, English (Latin), and Hindi (Devanagari). You can switch languages from the global settings dropdown at any time, and the lesson library updates instantly to show relevant content.
02 What WPM (Words Per Minute) speed tiers are available?
Three speed tiers are available: 30 WPM, 40 WPM, and 50 WPM. Each tier has its own curated passage library aligned with the GCC-TBC examination speed requirements.
03 What types of content modules are included?
GradeTyping includes speed-passage typing, e-mail composition, letter writing, statement/paragraph typing and objective theory practice.
04 Can I practice without the backspace restriction?
Yes. The backspace restriction is an optional practice control and is off by default, allowing you to correct mistakes freely.
05 How accurate is the exam simulation?
The exam interface is a realistic simulation that follows official constraints while remaining modern and easy to use. Students who practice on GradeTyping should feel confident and not be surprised on exam day.
Results & Evaluation
01 What statistics are shown after completing a typing session?
The results table contains 11 rows: Words in Lesson, Words Typed, Characters in Lesson, Characters Typed, Spaces in Lesson, Spaces Typed, Correct Characters, Accuracy (%), WPM, Backspaces Used, and Time Taken.
02 How is accuracy calculated?
Accuracy is calculated as (Correct Characters ÷ Total Characters Typed) × 100. A character is 'correct' if it matches the corresponding character in the reference passage at the same position.
03 What happens when the timer reaches zero?
The textarea is immediately locked — no further input is accepted. The session is automatically submitted and the results statistics table is displayed. This matches official exam behavior.
